MONTRÉAL, QC – Next month, in a town southeast of Reyjavik, Iceland, a direct air capture (DAC) facility will go online. It will be the world’s largest carbon capture and storage site. The operation will draw CO2 from the atmosphere, convert it to liquid, and store it below ground where it will turn to rock eventually. This location was chosen because of the vast geothermal energy source nearby.

A similar device is planned to be built somewhere along the St. Lawrence River in the province of Québec in Canada. The hyrdoelectrity produced there is relatively cheap and green.
“Oui, Québec sucks and hit will be fantastique to ‘ave dat ting ‘ere dans ‘our province,” a spokesman for Economic Development Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon crowed proudly. “Hif you check hour ‘istoire, you’ll see dat, for sure!”
The assembled masses weren’t quite sure how to digest this rant, but were treated to more in due course.

And as if high on sodium pentathol and undaunted by the shocked expressions of his audience, the daring speaker wound up the presser with, “ We h’are known to smoke in church, h’accelerate on de red light, want to leave Canada but h’are stuck h’in da middle. Oh, h’and we taunt de touristes for knowing not le français.”
It is hoped the DAC project will perform a better style of sucking than the province in which it is to be situated.
